My paintbrushes have been quite busy this Spring! I was blessed to have had a wonderful opportunity to paint in Hawaii in May! My husband had a conference he "HAD TO ATTEND" in Honolulu...so of course, I just had to go, too! :-) I packed up my watercolors and off we went! We decided to go to Maui after the conference, enjoying the vacation of our dreams! What a paradise! Beauty surrounded us every where we looked! From white sandy beaches and turquoise waters, to shimmering waterfalls and Haleakala's volcanic crater (which appeared like a moonscape)...we were so completely blown away by the beauty of the islands! I'll post a few pics from Haleakala.

Painting in Hawaii sure beats painting in the
winter with 20 degree weather! I nearly froze while painting in February in upstate New York, with my fellow artists in the Genesee Valley Plein Air Painters group. However, there is something to be said about every season...believe it or not, I found that I loved painting snow scenes in pastels this winter! :-)

If you are traveling in the Rochester area this summer, you can see some of my paintings in a show entitled "Under Open Skies: Painting Nature Past and Present" at the John Wehle Gallery in
the Genesee Country Village and Museum, Mumford NY, through Oct 13th. If you'd like to learn more about the Genesee Valley Plein Air Painters, check out their website: www.gvpap.com/
