My paintbrushes have been quite busy this Spring! I was blessed to have had a wonderful opportunity to paint in Hawaii in May! My husband had a conference he "HAD TO ATTEND" in Honolulu...so of course, I just had to go, too! :-) I packed up my watercolors and off we went! We decided to go to Maui after the conference, enjoying the vacation of our dreams! What a paradise! Beauty surrounded us every where we looked! From white sandy beaches and turquoise waters, to shimmering waterfalls and Haleakala's volcanic crater (which appeared like a moonscape)...we were so completely blown away by the beauty of the islands! I'll post a few pics from Haleakala.
Painting in Hawaii sure beats painting in the winter with 20 degree weather! I nearly froze while painting in February in upstate New York, with my fellow artists in the Genesee Valley Plein Air Painters group. However, there is something to be said about every season...believe it or not, I found that I loved painting snow scenes in pastels this winter! :-)
If you are traveling in the Rochester area this summer, you can see some of my paintings in a show entitled "Under Open Skies: Painting Nature Past and Present" at the John Wehle Gallery in the Genesee Country Village and Museum, Mumford NY, through Oct 13th. If you'd like to learn more about the Genesee Valley Plein Air Painters, check out their website: www.gvpap.com/

Hi Corinne,
Isn't a blog fun! I have one also but I haven't posted in a month.
(Ninaspaintings.blogspot.com)I'll list yours with the ones I log on to. Several other members have links to their blogs from the GVPAP site.
And your paintings are so colorful that it puts me in a good painting mood.
Nina
Corinne,
Your paintings are soooo good! I'm happy that you are painting regularly. We're looking to buy new kayaks, and the ones that I think we're going to purchase we designed by a local man whose wife is a painter. She helped him design the storage area of the kayak so that it would hold all of her painting supplies. Isn't that an enticing idea for a Plein Air painter?
Love,
Sharon
Nina, Thanks for the compliments! Happy to hear my paintings put you in a good painting mood! :-) That's a pretty sweet side effect of sharing our art on our Blogs...we can inspire one another to get out and paint more! You've got a very nice blog going, too...I need to pick your brain on how to put links in. In addition, I hope to put some finishing touches on the Peony Bed painting I started at Borglums' Iris Farm when I traveled out there last week with you! As soon as I do, I'll post it here! Corinne
Sharon,
I am so glad you enjoy my Blog! I think my Blog will motivate me to paint even more! When I post artwork that I'm producing and receive such great feedback from my friends, it makes me want to get back out there and paint all the more! Thanks again for all the encouragement you give me! What a blessing you are! Oh, and about the kayaking... let's plan a time to get out to Braddocks Bay for an afternoon of Kayaking...real soon, just the four of us! Love, Corinne
